{Fashion | Candela}

Candela's SS13 collection is the ultimate so cal wardrobe; from eyelet and embroidery to embellished silk and lace ruffles; I would wear every piece so comfortably, exuding effortless style, and a feeling of vintage romanticism, in OC's usually mild temperatures. The pieces were evident of the designer, Gabriela's heritage, reflecting her South American roots from Uruguay, as well as equestrian and traditional gaucho influences intertwined with elements of NYC's modern, fashion-forward city dwellers. I fell in love with the sheer femininity and sense of earthiness and free-spirit. She has to be one of my fave ready-to-wear designers; some of the looks that caught my fancy was the red sweater with lace back paired with lace shorts and nude boots; the deco inspired hand beaded dress with mesh ruffle along with fringe cognac suede sandals; and the tiered floral embroidery gown with white leather shoes. Gabriela's twin daughters showed up half way through the presentation, in awe of mommy's creations, and donning the most beautiful floral head wreaths. Just saw that she is featured in Harper Bazaar's October 2012 mag, check out her story.
I forgot to copyright a couple of photos but they were all taken by me...enjoy!
