The Nomia SS13 Collection designed by emerging NYC designer Yara Flinn played on simple and asymmetric lines, marble prints, and blending of soft and rigid textures. I especially liked the crop tops with high waisted pleated bottoms and skirts; as well as the red dress with front knot detail and the last dress with print and black paneling and a high neckline. An element of the collection that stood out was Flynn's use of embroidery featuring the word 'Whatever' and the 'Don't Tread On Me Snake' on some of the pieces. Through her collection, she evoked a feeling of empowerment and sophistication, but total street cred; you can definitely see where her NY upbringing and art background contributed to her designs.Check out backstage coverage a couple posts ago!
