Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty

An exhibition of your favorite character Hello Kitty as apart of the 40th Anniversary Celebration
If you are a Hello Kitty fan, you are not going to be able to handle yourself at the Japanese American National Museum's Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty, the first large-scale Hello Kitty museum retrospective in the United States. Located in the heart of LA's Little Tokyo district, visitors can experience an array of unique and rare Hello Kitty products and merchandise from the Sanrio archives, as well as as selection of innovative contemporary artworks inspired by Hello Kitty and her world. I was absolutely blown away by the mass amounts of memorabilia and merchandise that was on display and getting to really experience this iconic character's history and impact on pop culture around the world. Stepping through the first room alone brought a flood of memories from my childhood, I mean, Hello Kitty was my childhood; the pencil cases/pouches, the gum packets, the trinkets, accessories, and more. It was fascinating to get to see how Hello Kitty merchandise was used to create fashion looks and the interpretations of the beloved icon through different artists perspectives. Visit the exhibition until April 26, 2015:
