Gradually Going from Black to Blonde Hair with Conway Grooming

If you've been following me for awhile, you may have seen my journey through various ombre hair colors. I went from dying my own tips a deep purple with a drugstore box dye, to heading to the salon to have freshly cut hair re-ombred. Working on getting my hair lighter, I had my ends lightened with some bits coming out platinum blonde. And eventually as my hair grew a tad bit longer, I had my ends lightened again and dyed blue by Casie Conway. After the blue faded, I re-dyed the tips but with magenta and indigo dye.
My ends had completely faded and grown out that I needed a change and had my hair cut short again. Casie attended and sponsored an event I was co-hosting and she said she wanted to work on my hair again! I've really been wanting to transform my entire head from black to a silver/lavender color, and I have never dyed or touched my entire head. Casie had me come into Salty Blonde Cut Co. in Costa Mesa and we pretty much started from square one since a majority of my hair was my natural black color.
I love the salon space which is a little bit of minimal, meets industrial and rustic; it shares a space with boutique, Love & Whisky. While I sipped on champagne, Casie used Schwarzkopf lightener and 20 developer to get my hair gradually lighter to blonde without frying it. After three hours, the result was a beautiful chocolate color with caramel tones. I was quite pleasantly surprised at how much lighter my hair had gotten in that time. To keep my hair from going too bronze-toned, Casie suggested I used a purple shampoo. I'll visit Casie a couple more times before my hair is a blonde hue that will allow for the silver/lavender color dye to adhere and show up better in my hair.
I'm excited for my new hair journey with Casie, she's an amazing colorist; and is also really great with men's haircuts, well all haircuts in general, but she has a knack for men's hair! She's also not just a pro at hair, but makeup as well; seeing that it's prom season, book her for a hair and makeup sesh!
If you're in the Orange County area, you NEED to visit Casie, she'll take care of you; although she's a one stop shop, I highly recommend seeing her for any hair-coloring/dying services as it is no joke when changing your hair, especially if there's lightening (bleaching) involved!
