Hotel Karashy in Seoul, South Korea

I am VERY excited to share more about my stay in Seoul - I absolutely LOVED staying at Hotel Karashy in the Sadang neighborhood of Seoul, South Korea, and I could not have imagined a better place to stay at to kick off my first time in Korea. Upon checking into Hotel Karashy, I was immediately drawn to the modern, moody feel intertwined with vintage, European-inspired library setting of the lobby. As if the hotel lobby was not amazing enough, our Premium Room was awe-striking - we had not stayed in such a  cool  hotel space before.

OUR PREMIUM HOTEL ROOM

The aesthetic just blew us away; there's a spectacular blend of industrial and rustic elements along with modern elegance. The room has an openness about it, but includes a beautiful wooden barn door that can be opened and closed for privacy. I immediately fell in love with the bath tub which looked quite spacious and had the most spectacular view of Seoul (definitely had a lush bubble bath bomb sesh in that tub). Whether day or night, I couldn't help but take in the sprawling city views. The decor in our room was so immaculately detailed, which is also apparent in the other rooms and suites (you need to check out the room photos on the hotel website here). From the intricate details of the hanging lamp and basin sink to the wood block wall design and rust-like finished metal walls; it was sheer interior design delight. Amenities include A/C, complimentary wifi, a flat screen tv, luxury Amini toiletries, hot water dispenser, refrigerator, outlet convertors/voltage adapters, a laptop and speakers. I just wish there would have been a smidge more closet space so I could hang my outfits, and the bed was a bit firm than I was used to but those are definitely not deal breakers, I would stay at Hotel Karashy time and time again. I was very smitten with the fact that every nook (especially in the lift/elevator) smelled like cherries or was at least a pleasant fragrance (it really sets the mood). As well, the staff is incredible - from the front desk to housekeeping, everyone was extremely helpful and personable. I also loved that there was an array of 24 hour restaurants, coffee shops and convenient stores on the street of the hotel, and it was extremely close to the Sadang Subway Station.

ABOUT THE HOTEL

Since the opening in November of 2013, Hotel Karashy has been the go-to boutique hotel for staycations for families, friends, bachelorette parties, you name it! There's also a Rooftop Terrace which can be used for barbeques, meetings, spa parties and more (Jen and I got to check out the rooftop space and views prior to its opening hours so we could snap some pics).  All of the suites include a spa space and kitchen with dining area. This is a smoking-free hotel, and has a multilingual staff at a 24 hour reception desk. AND it is rated a 4.3/5 stars on HOTELS.com (awesome)!

BEL AMI - HOTEL RESTAURANT

The hotel restaurant, Bel Ami offers breakfast buffet and all day dining (lunch and dinner) with pre-fixe and regular menu offerings, as well as a wine bar/lounge. The breakfast buffet has a variety of fixings to create salads and simple sandwiches, eggs and sausage dishes, fried rice, soups, cereal and juices, tea & coffee. Jen and I enjoyed dinner on our last night at Hotel Karashy and I ordered the Vongole (spaghetti pasta with clams in a white wine sauce) - see the entire menu here! I was obsessed with the entire vibe of the restaurant - it had this New York City lounge feel with elements of mystery and almost like a speakeasy feel. During our dinner service a movie was projected onto the wall; the room was filled with dining guests like girlfriends having a date night, lovers meeting for a drink, and friends enjoying each other's company and good food and wine; this definitely felt like a popular spot to start off the night. Guests other than hotel guests can access the Bel Ami restaurant by taking a staircase down from the street level.
