{Day 1/Spring 2012 NY Trip}

Day One-

7:55am Arrive at JFK Airport

8:10am Attempt to contact Ariel (she's on another flight)

8:15am Make contact with Ariel, take the Airtrain separately and meet at the Jamaican Station stop

8:50am Meet at the Jamaican Station, buy our metrocards, and transfer to 3 other trains

9:20am Get off at the Montrose, Brooklyn exit. Walk a couple blocks to Ariel's sister, Mia's apt

9:30am Drag luggage up 4 flights of stairs (work out while doing it), drop off luggage and accompany Mia to the Bread Brother's Bagel Cafe before she leaves to go to Parsons

9:45am Peruse the many gourmet cream cheese flavors available at the bagel shop. I order an Everything Bagel with Cucumber Dill Cream Cheese.

10:00am Say goodbye to Mia, and walk back to the apt

10:10am Enjoy our humongous bagels that we got for only $3!

10:30am Nap

3:30pm Wake from our beauty sleep and get ready to hit up a HAPPY HOUR at a resto

4:30pm Snap pics for instagram, yelp a resto in East Village, call up Lauren (Ariel's childhood friend) to meet us at the resto

4:45pm Leave the apt, grab a cup of coffee from CUP, right by the subway entrance (convenient much?), get on the train towards 8 Av to get to 10 Degrees Bar

5:10pm, exit the subway station at, and start trekking to 10 Degrees Bar for HAPPY HOUR (BOGO Drinks)

5:30pm Still walking. Taking in the sights; numerous tattoo shops, pizza joints, and art scene on St. Marks Pl.

5:40pm arrive at 10 Degrees Bar, but since Lauren is not there yet, head over to Tompkins Square Park across the street

5:50pm Receive a call from Lauren while she's walking to the resto, meet her there!

5:55pm Enter the dimly lit, intimate space...perfect for our early evening happy hour drinks.

6:15pm Order sangria, martini extra dirty extra dry, and a margarita

7:00pm Second round of drinks

7:45pm Snap a pic of us 3 outside of 10 Degrees
7:55pm Grab a piece of NY Pizza
8:00pm Walk down St. Marks Pl, popping into tattoo shops for pricing on a tattoo for Ariel

8:20pm Walk to the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, for the Totally J/K show; meet Leif and Ryan (another 2 of Ariel's childhood friends) on the way there.

8:25pm Enter the lobby of the theatre, pay $5 Admission, and order a beer

8:45pm Wait in the hallway to enter the theatre

8:50pm Enter the theatre, grab primo seats

9:00pm Start of the show

10:00pm End of Show, leave the theatre and walk to Heather's Bar
10:45pm Subway back to Montrose av, stop by a Brooklyn bar
12:00am go home, and SLEEP!

Although our first day wasn't filled with much sight-seeing and such...I still enjoyed walking the streets of the city, and just kicking back with friends over drinks :)
