Elliott Evan Spring/Summer 13 Debut Shot at Concept LA

'In Dreams Forever' was the name of designer Elliott Giffis' Elliott Evan SS13 debut collection during CONCEPT LA Shows at Siren Studios in the whole mix of LAFW. This was my second menswear show that I have ever seen, and I must say I became pretty smitten with the collection. The show started strong with structured shapes and prints--moto and utility jackets exploding with electrifying colors and ocean animal graphics (bringing me back to my childhood Sea World days of collecting souvenir t-shirts), and almost all models clad in knicker bocker type bottoms in an array of textures. I loved Giffis' twist on outerwear by adding contrasting colored and diagonally placed zippers yielding in an edgy and multi-functional look on some jackets and coats; and the prominent collars or drape neck details also caught my eye. I totally swooned over the PVC pieces, in black and white, color blocked styles, layered over prints and eyelet patterns, and the over-embellishment of zipper and draping chains. The collection finished with simply cut poplin jersey and lace tops. Can't wait to see more!
