Honey & Butter Macarons at Irvine Spectrum Center

After years of swooning over Honey & Butter's infamous cutesy and awe striking macaron creations, I finally made it into their Irvine Spectrum Center location. Wife and husband duo, Leanne and Pawel Pietrasinski started making these sweet Parisian treats in 2014, selling out of an Airstream trailer at the Lab in Costa Mesa. Macarons are made fresh daily and Honey and Butter is known for selling out of their special character macarons, which cost about $3-4. I visited during the weekday after 5pm and there wasn't a wait (and there were also character macarons left); I've been by over the weekend and in the morning you can walk in and get macarons without a wait, but when it hits around 11am a line forms out the door that looks like it's about a 30-45min wait. I would say that they are well worth the wait though - if you're into macarons and desserts. I've have Ladurée macarons and was far more impressed with the quality and taste of Honey & Butters macarons. With every bite, the macaron melts in your mouth - and they even hold up their freshness and quality after a couple days from purchasing. See what characters and flavors they have been baking up on their instagram account - the special characters in particular are now available in both locations at 12pm. Visit here:
