Colorful Dumplings from JA Jiaozi Authentic Dumplings in Irvine

I was craving dumplings, but couldn’t be bothered to go to Paradise Dynasty or Din Tai Fung since the waits would probably be ridiculous. So I looked up dumplings spots and found JA Jiaozi at the Market Place in Irvine. Scott and I met up with a couple friends and their daughter for a feast! Everyone ordered different kinds of dumplings (which are handmade in the restaurant, and there’s a viewing glass where you can see them being made). I tried the Steamed Jiaozi combo which includes:
•Red - pork w/beet Jiaozi skin
•Black - black cod w/cuttlefish sauce Jiaozi skin
•Green - veggie w/spinach Jiaozi skin
•Yellow - chicken w/carrot Jiaozi skin
•White - shrimp w/regular Jiaozi skin

As well as the stir fried garlic baby bok choy, stir fried string beans with XO sauce, veggie fried rice and braised beef brisket & quail eggs. All the dishes alongside 30 dumplings was split between 4.5 peeps and we were stuffed 🤤

Reservations not accepted but we arrived around 5:30pm on a Friday night and were seated right away. By the time we left 6:30pm, it was more packed but still plenty of seating (not sure if they are spacing out, but it seemed that way).
