All You Can Eat AYCE Shabu at All That Shabu in Irvine, CA

I finally got to experience All That Shabu in Irvine after seeing my cousin Kevin frequent the place so much. I don’t think I’ve ever dined at an all you can eat shabu restaurant before, but I could be wrong. I may have done an AYCE once years ago, but obviously was unremarkable if I can’t exactly pin-point, right? My usual go-to shabu place is Mokkoji (also in Irvine), and I’m actually surprised I haven’t posted about Mokkoji on the blog yet (but I know I have plenty of photos from that restaurant). Every time I’ve tried other shabu restaurants, they usually don’t live up to Mokkoji. I’ve been having a really crappy week and a half before experiencing All That Shabu, so it was a nice treat. It’s a great value during dinner for $34.99/person because there are other meat options available only during dinner/all day weekend serving, as well as an amazing selection of meats, sides, sauces, veggies, seafood and banchan.

How does it work?

1. Pick your broth (we chose spicy beef)
2. Pick your meats (up to 4 at a time) - we enjoyed (1)USDA PRIME angus beef brisket, (8)FILET MIGNON (9)All That Shabu Signature Beef Ribeye & (11)LAMB shoulder
3. Select items from the “salad bar” - which has an insane variety of side dishes like fried rice, japchae glass noodles, Korean fried chicken, rice cakes, banchan, seafood and more; as well as classic banchan dishes and seafood
4. Grab your sauces like sesame and ponzu and other condiments like garlic, green onion and radish
*you also have access to the soda fountain and other beverages, as well as sesame balls and soft serve

It’s timed dining, you get 1.5 hr, which was just enough time for us since broth and meat are served quickly and you can simultaneously grab all the sides, etc while the meat is being sliced and served. We are fans and can’t wait to come back!

Aside from being blown away by all of the self serve options (I mean there’s seafood, granted it’s frozen, but typically seafood is an additional cost at other shabu places), an incredible array of side dishes, veggies and banchan; the meat quality is really good! It’s so worth coming to dinner or weekend to have access to the more premium meats like the filet mignon (it’s soooo good, no fat on that cut of meat).
