Renaissance LAX Los Angeles Airport Hotel Stay & Park

For flights out of LAX, Scott and I will typically park our car in long-term parking underground beneath the Hilton LAX hotel. If we are doing an international flight, we’ll typically do a one-night stay prior to the flight to ensure we are already in LA and within a short distance to our terminal. This time, we decided to try parking and staying for one night at the Renaissance LAX hotel before our trip to Raleigh, North Carolina.

I really enjoyed the stay since the vibe and aesthetic of the hotel was very eclectic and posh with the various types of artwork whether wall art or a statue, and just the overall furniture and decor. The room is nice and comfortable, and there’s an airport shuttle available. My only gripe was that the shuttle seemed to almost be full every time it pulled up to the hotel so I think it was shared with another hotel pick up. We got lucky in our second try because there were two available seats on the shuttle and we therefore did not have to wait for the next one. Whereas when we’ve taken the airport shuttle from the Hilton, it seems like that shuttle is dedicated to just that hotel, it’s not doing multiple hotel pick ups/drop offs. So the shuttles are frequent and there’s always ample space (except there was a one off time that we were waiting for the shuttle about 9pm at night and seemed that most of the shuttles were out of commission so there were less shuttles running and taking longer to pick up from the Hilton).

During our one night stay, we stopped in at the hotel’s Studio 12 Restaurant & Lounge for dinner. We ordered off of the lounge menu, so Scott got the Studio 12 burger ($21) and I got the Cali Chicken Sandwich ($19). It’s a pretty hefty fee in my opinion, but I feel like for the hotel and vibe, they can get away with charging over $20 for the burger. Both dishes did come with a side of fries or salad. Our one-night stay was about $196 in early June. If you don’t need to stay at the Renaissance but need short or long term parking near LAX, check out self parking rates for the hotel’s structure here - parking for 4 days was $60, versus if you pay just the hotel daily rate to park which is $52/day (so it’s definitely worth it to book the parking ahead of time).
